Razionale scientifico

Chronic Kidney Disease–Mineral and Bone Disorder (CKD-MBD) is a major complication of chronic kidney disease, characterized by the complex interaction between bone fragility, mineral metabolism abnormalities, vascular calcification, and increased cardiovascular risk. The diagnosis and management of CKD-MBD remain challenging and require a multidisciplinary and evidence-based approach. This educational program aims to provide participants with an updated overview of the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of bone and cardiovascular complications associated with CKD. Through plenary lectures, clinical cases, and interactive discussions, the course will address key topics including osteoporosis in CKD, secondary hyperparathyroidism, bone quality assessment, vascular calcification, and emerging therapeutic strategies. Particular attention will be given to innovative treatments, cardiovascular risk factors, and the role of new technologies such as artificial intelligence in CKD-MBD management. The program also explores the impact of novel metabolic therapies on kidney, vascular, and bone health. By integrating scientific updates with practical clinical insights, the course aims to improve participants' knowledge and support a more comprehensive and personalized management of patients with CKD-MBD.
