Razionale scientifico

This 2-day course aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the most recent and controversial evidence regarding Parkinson's Disease and related syndromes. Key topics include the new biological definition of the disease based on available biomarkers, the relationship between genetic susceptibility and environmental toxins, and the non-motor dimension—with a specific focus on cognitive impairment and dementia. Additionally, the event will explore early and accurate diagnosis via advanced neuroimaging, as well as pharmacological strategies designed not only to ensure both symptomatic relief but to maintain mid-term functional outcomes. The program features three session formats: expert debates offering contrasting perspectives on specific topics; state-of-the-art lectures on crucial issues such as the role of GBA1 gene and continuous dopaminergic stimulation; and interactive clinical case studies where experts and participants collaborate on the most appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic pathways. By gathering leading international experts, this event offers a unique opportunity for high-level professional development. Through extensive discussion periods with the faculty, the goal is for participants to successfully translate these insights into daily clinical practice.
